Who We Are & What We Do

Formerly known as the SFU Queer Graduate Student, Faculty and Staff Network, the SFU Queer Collective rebranded in 2023 with a renewed mission to create an inclusive home for 2SLGBTQIA+ Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, Faculty, Staff and Alumni across Simon Fraser University's three campuses. This new name signifies our aspirations for a more collaborative and community-centered approach that embodies collective principles and spirit.

Mission

The SFU Queer Collective provides an inclusive home for 2SLGBTQIA+ graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, and postdoctoral fellows at SFU to cultivate belonging, community, and queer joy. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to anti-oppressive values, the promotion of equity and justice, and the nurturing of intersectional solidarities.
